Grande notizia per i fan dei Pearl Jam. Il gruppo alternative rock americano ha quasi completato la registrazione del decimo album in studio.

Lo ha annunciato Stone Gossard, il chitarrista della band, che in una lunga intervista a Rolling Stone ha fatto il punto sulla situazione: "Non abbiamo alcuna fretta - ha affermato -, ma posso dirvi che mancano solo uno o due brani al completamento del cd».

Gossard, che sta promuovendo in questi giorni il nuovo album del suo progetto parallelo Brad, preferisce però non sbilanciarsi troppo: «Abbiamo registrato alcune canzoni e abbiamo intenzione di scriverne e provarne altre - ha sottolineato -. Può darsi che ne manchino due, come può darsi invece che decidiamo di aggiungerne sei o sette. Vedremo».

«Lo ripeto, non c'è nessuna urgenza - ha ribadito il chitarrista -. La cosa che ci preme maggiormente è espandere i nostri confini, piuttosto che seguire quello che abbiamo sempre fatto in passato».

C'è aria di novità, dunque. «Penso che sia un buon momento per sperimentare nuove sonorità - ha concluso Gossard -. Vogliamo che la gente, ascoltando il nostro nuovo cd, esclami “Wow, questo è insolito per i Pearl Jam”. Così, tra dieci anni, i fan potranno scegliere quale sia il periodo preferito della band».
